Search engine optimisation (SEO), also known as organic SEO, is a major factor in determining a web site’s ranking on the leading search engines such as Google and Yahoo. Search engine optimisation (SEO) includes both paid search advertising and free search engine submissions. It is often confused with link building, which is an aspect of organic SEO. However, they are very different techniques that should not be confused with each other.

Link building is one of the many aspects of search engine optimization. It is defined as “the process by which a web site gains in popularity through the accumulation of links pointing back to the site”. In simple terms, links back to a web site to increase its rankings in search engine results. In search engine optimisation (SEO), web sites can gain rankings for different factors. Some of these include;

Many people believe that they should only focus on one aspect of SEO. However, it is not correct. While it is true that you should focus on making your site as easy to navigate as possible, it is important to understand that search engines value other factors as well. Some of these include; the number of internal links, the volume of content, quality of content, and relevancy.

One of the most important aspects of SEO is page ranking, which is determined by several factors. Google, as an example, values inbound links to web pages; however, it does not look at the quality of these links. In order to get a high page rank, you should focus on creating quality content, linking to reputable websites, and giving appropriate inbound links to your web pages.

One of the most popular methods of SEO is using keywords. Keywords or keyword phrases are used by the Google and Yahoo search engines to find specific pages within a webpage. Keywords can affect both search engine optimisation and the amount of traffic visiting a particular webpage. As a result, it is important to ensure that you choose keywords that are relevant to the topic.

Another method that is used by search engines is to determine the location of a webpage. The location of a web page can be calculated using various algorithms. For example, Google uses a mathematical formula known as Lat longitude. This formula takes into consideration the postal code of the location and the connection between these two areas.

Content is also an important factor in search engine marketing and SEO. If the content on your site is poorly written and of poor quality, it can negatively affect your search results. As a result, many webmasters will attempt to build their websites around useful information. However, doing this can prove detrimental to your site as a whole. Rather than attempting to fool the search engines through tricky writing, try to provide content that is user-centred and informative.

Another new feature that has been implemented into Google is called Google Suggest. This is an online tool which allows users to input any search term and Google will compare the number of results for that term. If you have plenty of competition, such as with the phrase “How to Play Golf”, you may not see much change in the number of results. However, if you have relatively less competition, such as with the phrase “How to Write Articles” you may notice a large increase in ranking. This method will work best if you have very high competition, especially if you use targeted keywords. It is important to remember that Google Suggest works best when used alongside other methods of SEO.
